Training Specialist – Emerging Technology

Position:

The IATSE Training Trust Fund (TTF), a Taft Hartley Training Fund, is looking for a full-time Training Specialist for Emerging Technologies to conduct outreach, coordination and tracking for select training programs of the IATSE Training Trust Fund. This position is based in Burbank in the TTF offices.

Organization Overview:

The IATSE Training Trust Fund is a labor management training fund that envisions a workforce with the highest level of training in skills, safety, and craftsmanship, available across the IATSE jurisdiction. Our mission is to promote industry-wide recognized standards for safety, skills, and craftsmanship in the entertainment and exhibition industries by:

• Providing training that improves existing skills, develops new skills, embraces technological change, and focuses on the safest way to perform the work of the crafts

• Supporting training opportunities to all employees working under the jurisdiction of the IATSE

• Developing state-of-the-art training tools, resources, and methods

Responsibilities:

• Continually research new trends in emerging technology and track how they may be used nationally across IATSE employers and impacting IATSE workers. Keeps an eye on what training may be needed for workers based on these trends.
• Recommend topics and trainings for curriculum and course development based on the needs of participating employers, local unions and on industry trends.
• Conduct outreach to existing participating employers and IATSE locals to identify emerging technology needs.
• Expand program and partnership outreach to be inclusive of as many IATSE crafts as possible.
• Handle all aspects of course application, eligibility and enrollment for audio visual & integrated technologies courses.
• Track participation in audio visual & integrated technologies programs.
• Maintain regular contact with our audio visual & integrated technologies training partners and instructors.
• Work with to troubleshoot issues with our audio visual and integrated technologies partnership agreements (AVIXA).
• Arrange and oversee shipping of TTF equipment used for audio visual & integrated technologies courses.
• Keep inventory of, maintain, repair and replace TTF owned equipment.
• Ability to update existing curriculum and develop new curriculum as needed.
• Instruction/instruction support for identified Emerging Technologies, Audio Visual, Networking and other IT courses.
• Other tasks and projects as assigned by TTF Leadership and Management.

 Minimum Qualifications 

•  Education and Experience: BA and 5+ years’ experience coordinating adult/worker education and/or coordinating/implementing worker education programs.  Industry experience in lieu of degree may be ok. Understanding of and passion for emerging technologies and equipment and/or demonstrated ability to learn.
