The Major Gifts Officer is a key role to
ensuring that Arrowmont meets its annual fundraising goals through planning and
execution. The position reports to the Director of Advancement and works
closely with the Chief Officer of Institutional Advancement (COIA) to execute
well-defined strategies for the organization's financial success. The MGO is responsible for managing a portfolio of donor
prospects, detailed further below. This is a collaborative, action-oriented
role for someone who is skilled at building relationships, cultivating large
gifts, and being a self-starter. The ideal candidate has a track-record of
cultivating realized gifts of $10,000 and higher. This position is full-time,
year-round, benefits eligible, and exempt.

The Major
Gifts Officer (MGO) is responsible for managing a portfolio of 175-200 major
gift prospects. The MGO will be expected
to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors and
prospects, and must be able to represent Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts
enthusiastically and accurately to a variety of constituents including board
members, major donors, prospects, and the artistic community.

The officer
works collaboratively with other Institutional Advancement and Arrowmont staff
members, to cultivate and solicit donors for Arrowmont’s priorities.
The officer
monitors all prospect contacts to ensure positive and purposeful prospect and
donor relations and recommends and assists with programming involving the Chief
Executive Officer, Chief Officer for Institutional Advancement, Director of
Advancement, and board members.

The officer
will be a key figure in Arrowmont's upcoming capital campaign, working closely
with campaign leadership and Arrowmont’s Executive Leadership Team to raise
campaign gifts and help to achieve a successful campaign.
