Position: Central/South Seattle Lead Teacher
Reports to: Executive Director of Education
Location: Kimball, Maple, Beacon Hill and Madrona Elementaries
Position type: Hourly, non-exempt, no benefits
Pay rate: $30/hour; $500 bonus after 3 months
Average hours: Approximately 20 hours/week
Start date: Open until filled; hope to start in April or May, 2024.

About SPIN Enrich: SPIN Enrich offers programming in partnership with schools and community partners and out of our new makerspace and lab at the Renton Technical College Annex. SPIN Enrich teaches STEM concepts in supportive learning environments, focused on culturally relevant instruction. Sessions are hands-on allowing students to experience and learn from cutting-edge equipment and technology used throughout the STEM industry.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Central/South Seattle Lead Instructor: The Lead Instructor is an hourly, part time position. The lead instructor will travel to three elementary schools - Beacon Hill International School, Madrona Elementary, and Maple Elementary school. SPIN will provide curriculum, technology training, and professional development in classroom management and culturally responsive pedagogy. Ideal candidates will bring a desire to work with kids (ranging from kindergarten to fifth grade), experience working with K-1 students, and a willingness to learn! We value lived experience and a STEM background is not a requirement for this position.
During the school year, we provide after school classes Monday through Friday at the following locations with additional setup and take-down time:
Monday: Madrona 3-4pm
Tuesday: Madrona 3-5:10pm
Wednesday: Maple 1:45-5:05pm
Thursday: Beacon Hill 3-5:10pm
Friday: Beacon Hill 3-4pm
During summer, we provide classes for a duration of 4 days per week for 6 consecutive weeks at the following locations with additional setup and take-down time:
July 8-11: Kimble 9:30-11:30am
July 15-18: Beacon Hill 9:30-11:30am
July 22-25: Madrona 9:30-11:30am
July 29-August 1: Kimble 9:30-11:30am
August 5-8: Beacon Hill 9:30-11:30am
August 12-14 AND 16: Madrona 9:30-11:30am (NOTE: SPIN will not provide instruction to Madrona students on 8/15/24 and will meet instead on 8/16/24)

PREFERED SKILLS:
Experience working with low-income students, included but not limited to Title 1 schools, and a familiarity with the unique gifts and needs of this population.
