You have a talent for volunteer engagement, excellent time management skills, and a knack for building strong relationships. You enjoy recruiting mission-aligned volunteers and supporting them to be a part of successful events and programs. You are invested in recovery from substance use disorder and believe in the power of community. This position will focus on recruiting, training, and retaining a robust network of volunteers who will lead activities including, but not limited to, yoga, music events, kickboxing, book clubs, and socials. The ideal candidate will have experience with recruiting volunteers and building volunteer committees, a knack for strategic problem-solving, and will be comfortable with building strong relationships throughout the community. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build a strong, community-based volunteer program in Tampa including recruiting, training, and retaining volunteers
  • Oversee volunteer contractors and interns and hold programs in new communities
  • Build committees to leverage the power of our volunteers to grow our movement and create volunteer outings and opportunities for volunteer incentives
  • Utilize various technology platforms such as Salesforce and social media platforms to run reports, identify trends, and report out to the team
  • Attend quarterly Tampa Impact Board meetings
  • Commute semi-regularly for events with approximately 30-40% of time spent on the ground in the community
  • Travel as needed to organizational volunteer trainings with Phoenix staff
  • Work evening and weekend hours as needed
  • Complete other duties as assigned


 


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Relevant experience or exposure to volunteer-led programming, volunteer coordinating, or other related fields.
  • Organizational and time management skills, as well as adaptability and flexibility
  • Strong networking skills
  • Comfortable with assessing talent and having coaching conversations where needed.
  • Experience in building and deepening community engagement as well as finding, recruiting, and training others
  • A self-starter mindset, humility, and integrity
  • Proficiency with technology
  • Reliable transportation for commuting around the Tampa Bay area


 


PREFERENCES

  • A background in fitness, yoga, or music
  • Ability to speak multiple languages

SALARY AND BENEFITS


  • $50,000 - $55,000 annually
  • 403(b) retirement plan with 4% match
  • Paid time off (vacation/sick days/skill enhancement days)
