    The National Partnership for Women & Families is a nonprofit, nonpartisan 501(c)(3) organization that fights for equity for all women and families. We’re passionate about making change on big issues such as equal pay for all women, paid leave for working families and access to affordable health care that provides abortion and reproductive care. We advocate on the Hill and for federal, state and local policy.

    Position Overview

    The 75 Million Project is a joint effort of the National Partnership for Women & Families (NPWF) and National Women’s Law Center (NWLC). The Communications and Campaign Senior Manager will play a pivotal role in advancing the goals of the 75 Million Campaign by streamlining processes for developing, approving, and deploying communication advocacy materials; demonstrating the ability to think creatively and implement new ideas; establish strong working relationships with stakeholders and partners; and coordinating communication efforts to maintain action in a volatile political environment for a two-year campaign.

    The role requires a strategic collaborator who thrives in a dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders and evolving priorities.

    In the face of escalating attacks on a range of strategies that have been essential to gender equity and to gender progress at work, the 75 Million Project is launching a two-year national narrative and policy campaign. The campaign aims to reaffirm that gender equity –and women’s progress in particular– is essential for America's economic prosperity.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Lead coordination efforts among the 75 million’s Campaign Manager, NPWF’s Vice President of Marketing and Communications, the 75 Million’s Managing Director for Policy, and our contracted communications firm to advance project goals, actions, and activities.
    • Work with communications firm to coordinate communication work and help ensure transparency with campaign stakeholders
    • Oversee and coordinate event planning and broader engagement strategies to ensure alignment with campaign milestones and objectives.
    • Attend 75 Million meetings to provide guidance and bridge policy, engagement, and communications efforts.
    • Be a central point of contact and hub for the project including with NWLC – our co-convener, and the broader coalition table.
    • Develop and execute workstreams for campaign deliverables, including public engagement materials and policy promotion assets.
    • Oversee quality control and lead the development of high-impact content, including social media posts, toolkits, event invitations, and strategic communications.

    Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills Required:

    • At least 5 years of experience in policy and issue advocacy space in areas related to progressive economic issues or gender equality and justice.
    • Experience supporting issue campaign plans and strategies, particularly 501c3 issue advocacy efforts
    • A strong understanding of the progressive issue advocacy and policy ecosystems
    • Experience coordinating the needs of multiple stakeholders and partners
    • Experience with earned media campaigns and tactics and an understanding of the role of communications in strategic campaigns as well as familiarity with services offered by communications and public relations firms
    • Experience creating advocacy resources and content, including calls to action, toolkits for partners, etc.
    • Familiarity with Slack, social media platforms, website content creation, and Google and Microsoft office suites
    • Skilled in addressing challenges with emotional intelligence and maintaining positive relationships.
    • Ability to work effectively in team environments and navigate large coalition dynamics.

    Classification

    The National Partnership recognizes a staff bargaining unit, National Partnership United, affiliated with the Nonprofit Professional Employees Union/IFPTE Local 70, a union for non-profit workers. This position is NOT included in the NP United bargaining unit.

    Salary and Benefits

    The salary range for this role is $96,541-$119,146 with the exact salary determined by years of relevant experience, in alignment with NPWF’s compensation setting criteria.

    Employment and Workplace Details

    The Research Manager position is a full-time DC-based position with a hybrid schedule that requires a minimum of four days of in-office work each month, with additional in-office and in-person days determined by your role and job responsibilities. There is a probationary period during the first six months of employment for this temporary position. This position will last for 18 months from the date of hire.

    The National Partnership is a 50+ person staff that fosters a collaborative culture. We have a collegial work environment. Fully Vaccinated is defined by the CDC as being 2 weeks after the final dose in a primary series of COVID-19 vaccines (2 doses of Pfizer or Moderna, 1 dose of Johnson & Johnson). Up to date means a person has received all recommended COVID-19 vaccines, including any booster dose(s) when eligible. New employees must be fully vaccinated before their start date, and up-to-date as soon as eligible, unless an exemption due to a medical condition or a sincerely held religious belief or practice is granted.
