Position Overview:

This role requires a Salesforce professional with strong delivery skills, interpersonal savvy, and the ability to support multiple strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will identify with the goals and mission of NCG and believe in the power of people coming together for change. As a part of the Member Engagement team, the position will also coordinate with the Public Affairs and Operations teams as appropriate. A successful candidate will blend flexibility with disciplined execution and exhibit confidence in operating in an integrated approach across the organization.


Essential Job Functions:

Strategic Membership Engagement (60 percent)

• Welcome new members, provide orientation, ensure timely dues payments, and troubleshoot technical issues. 

• Efficiently manage the Member Engagement Committee and collaborate on strategic approaches with the Director of Member Engagement. 

• Responsively address member inquiries, provide relationship support, and manage NCG relationships with partners. 

• Maximize membership renewals, establish campaigns in Salesforce, and track financial performance. 

• Lead and monitor new membership campaigns, managing communications with prospective members and conducting research and tracking. 

• Oversee membership processing, including applications and invoicing. 

• Provide support for board and key partner engagement, conduct membership research and surveys, manage registration for Annual Conference, and assist with other special projects.


Digital Operations (35 percent)

• Assume a leadership role in enhancing NCG's utilization of Salesforce, establish best practices, and integrate new features. 

• Assist in maintaining website and communications content to advance organizational goals. 

• Manage all Salesforce membership data, oversee reporting, build and maintain dashboard, and provide staff training and support. 

• Provide comprehensive support for online functionalities, including managing member accounts, reconciling mapping issues, and running reports. 

• Provide support for communications projects using Drupal, Salesforce, and Asana.  

• Manage requests related to NCG’s Philanthropy Job Board, including content editing and troubleshooting. 


General Support (5 percent)

• Execute general administrative duties as required across various departments.

Relevant Experiences Required:

NCG seeks a candidate who has the potential to be a leader in the field. The following requirements serve as a guide, and NCG encourages applicants to submit their applications even if they do not meet all of the requirements stated below. 

• Minimum a bachelor’s degree or equivalent life experience in public policy, public affairs, public administration, or related fields.

• At least 3 years of experience working in membership development, marketing, or related associations. 

• Strong project management with the ability to organize, prioritize, and manage complex, multidimensional projects to successful completion within desired timeframes and to define goals, meet urgent deadlines, organize, and prioritize projects. 

• Demonstrated commitment to social justice and racial equity.

• Technical acumen, including Salesforce, Drupal, Asana, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to learn and adapt quickly to virtual communications and collaborative applications. 

• Must be located in the San Francisco Bay Area with the ability to travel throughout the region as necessary.
