Assistant Group Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY:

Assistant Group Supervisor:

Work Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:45 PM, to provide daily activities for children enrolled in our arts and technology summer camp. Must be able to create and implement enrichment activities according to student's level of ability and interest. ASG’s must be able to effectively deal with group space management techniques, potentially challenging behaviors and utilize available supports including program director and coordinator to address issues that may arise. ASG’s are also responsible for the coordination of observational student assessments, daily attendance, etc. There is potential for additional hours on Fridays which is field trip day. ASG’s must be reliable, arriving on time and regularly. Must be able to discuss any issues, report on student progress, and focus on student retention rate. ASG’s must maintain a positive, influential attitude and satisfactory level of performance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

▪ High school diploma or equivalent /Child Development Associate certificate and/ or Bachelor's

Degree preferred with 2 years experience

▪ Have a comprehensive understanding of the k-8 developmental milestones

▪ FBI background check, Child Abuse Clearance, Criminal Background Check & National Sex

Offender Registry (NSOAR). (Act 34, 114, and 151 clearances)

▪ Complete related paperwork and trainings

▪ Experience coordinating academically oriented clubs and extracurricular activities

▪ Strong communication skills

▪ Have strong decision making skills

RESPONSIBILITIES:

▪ Provide creative and behavioral support to students attending the program

▪ Identify individual student learning paths

▪ Observe, evaluate and distribute progress reports to team and Program Director

▪ Track and observe student progress

▪ Maintain student/family confidentiality

▪ Conference with parents and students as needed

▪ Create stimulating and developmentally appropriate lessons/ activities

▪ Provide appropriate levels of discipline, redirection, and praise to participants

▪ Attend staff meetings, field trips, alternative days etc.

▪ All other duties as assigned

ALL EMPLOYEES MUST BE ABLE TO OBTAIN A PA CHILD ABUSE CLEARANCE, PA

CRIMINAL CLEARANCE, AN FBI FINGERPRINT CLEARANCE, NSOR, COMPLETE A MANDATED

REPORTING TRAINING AND COMPLETE ALL REQUIRED PAPERWORK PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT.
