    Descrição

Vice President of Development and Administration

Cancer Research and Treatment Fund (CR and T)

Established in 1968, CR and T is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to funding research that seeks new treatments and cures for cancer, with a particular focus on blood cancers, especially the myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs). Currently, annual revenue is approximately $1million from individual and BioPharma contributions and investment income. The organization has committed more than $17 million to research, including nearly $8 million for our key research initiative, the Richard T. Silver, M.D. Myeloproliferative Neoplasms Center at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City. CR&T is proud of its research output in leading national and international journals and its role in national and international meetings, in promoting and assisting in fellowship and residency training, and in mentoring young postgraduate research assistants.

As CR&T enters a new phase of strategic growth, our leadership is energized by the potential to deepen our impact in the cancer research and patient advocacy space. At the heart of this transformation is a renewed commitment to expanding one of our most powerful and unique capabilities: convening high-impact patient symposia that bridge the gap between groundbreaking science and the patients who need it most. These symposia are not only critical platforms for educating patients about the latest advances in cancer research and treatment — for 25 years in the myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs) and soon to be in other cancers— but they also serve as catalysts for fostering community, collaboration, and empowerment among patients, clinicians, and researchers alike.

This focus allows CR&T to build a virtuous circle — using the visibility and engagement from our symposia to attract increased sponsorship from BioPharma partners and reinvesting those resources directly into pioneering clinical and laboratory research. These investments fuel discovery, accelerate the development of new and more effective treatments, and bring us closer to the ultimate goal: a cure. Our leadership sees this moment not just as a step forward, but as a leap toward realizing our founding vision with even greater urgency, innovation, and patient-centered purpose.
