Our vision is to build political power for the Latinx community to become decision-makers in our country’s democracy and win on economic, immigrant, and environmental issues. Our mission is to work to build a sustained progressive voting bloc of Latinxs in battleground states across the country. We do this by leading a voter-integrated engagement program where all aspects of voter engagement, issue-based campaigns, leadership development, voter protection, and narrative change form a continuous cycle of political consciousness. Through our work, we empower and equip Latinxs to become agents of change now. Founded in 2019, Poder Latinx operates Central Florida, Georgia, Arizona, Texas’ Rio Grande Valley, California’s Central Valley and Washington’s Yakima Valley.

About the Communications Department: 

Poder Latinx’s Communications Department is responsible for a wide range of activities, including the development and implementation of marketing, communication strategies, and monitoring their success. Simultaneously, creating and maintaining internal communication protocols that foster employee engagement while also elevating the work each staff member is doing to accomplish our mission. Currently, the communications department is divided into traditional media and digital, both directly responsible for the overall organization’s brand and presence. 


Poder Latinx is looking for Multimedia Associate to support our Communications Department.  The ideal candidate possess graphic design, audio, video, and multimedia development and editing skills, digital marketing and social media experience.


The Multimedia Associate will report to the Digital Manager and the Communications Director, and is expected to perform duties focused on, but not limited to, the creation, development, editing and production of digital media (such as photography, video, audio, graphics, multimedia); support with the creation, development and posting of social media content in various formats and platforms; provide integrated digital and social media strategies to the Communciations team; support with special digital projects; maintain the content of our website; incorporate performance best practices of digital, webpage and social media platforms.


Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Create multimedia content for a variety of media platforms: designs, edits, produces, reviews and integrates digital and social media content (graphics, photography, video,audio and other multimedia visualization) for the organization. 
  2. Understand and maintain the branding identity strategy for the organization and its programs.
  3. Performs computer-assisted editing for graphics, broadcast and audio productions: records audio, edits, and mixes effects, making sure media is accessible for all users, including those with disabilities.
  4. Develops and/or prepares presentation materials, using Powerpoint and/or other graphic applications, as appropriate.
  5. Creates and maintains our webpage and other digital assets associated to the webpageas assigned.
  6. Supports with organizing and maintaining electronic storage files (for photos, videos, graphics, and other multimedia assets) 
  7. Manage multiple, simultaneous projects to reach targets, staying on schedule and on budget.
  8. Collaborate closely with the Digital Manager, Communications Director and other staff members on all aspects of projects, including planning, content, production level and platforms, turnaround time, corrections, approvals and project estimates.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Ability to create and produce and edit graphic materials using a range of media, methods, techniques, and equipment. (Canva, Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator).
  • Video production and editing skills using Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, Capcut, and similar, including captions generation in platforms like Kapwing and similar. 
  • Proven ability to work in Social Media scheduling applications and platforms like Sprout, Hootsuite, Meta Business Suite, Facebook, Instagram, Linked In, X, Tik Tok, among others.
  • Proficiency to work on website content development platforms, such as Squarespace, Wix, Wordpress, and basic computer programs, such as Google and Microsoft.
  • Basic knowledge of search engine marketing (SEM) campaigns, search engine optimization (SEO), and optimized content writing best practices is a plus.
  • Must be familiar with current digital best practices and be able to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies.
  • Ability to set up and operate professional audio and/or video recording equipment.
  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
  • Ability to maintain calendars and schedule appointments.
  • Ability to multitask, complete and balance multiple projects demonstrating strong conceptual and analytical skills, planning abilities, and sound judgment.
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Willingly, effectively and proactively communicate and collaborate with colleagues, supervisors and leadership.
  • Ability to provide effective customer-service and to actively listen and appropriately respond to colleague, stakeholder and supervisor needs/requests.


Minimum Job Requirements

  • Good knowledge of computer graphic design, multimedia techniques, design and multimedia editing software.
  • Conceptualize ideas and translating into copy or digitally equivalent pre-press work via computer and traditional methods; creating design, artwork, multimedia projects, scheduling, and completion time.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, and especially in Spanish.
  • Associates degree or bachelor’s degree on graphic design, audiovisual production or communicationspreferred, with 1+ years design experience in related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.


Work Environment and Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time, use their hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Often repeat the same physical activities, such as using a computer. 


It is important for a Multimedia Associate to be able to: See details of objects that are less than a few feet away. See differences between colors, shades, and brightness. Understand the speech of another person. Speak clearly so listeners can understand. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. with or without accommodations. 


Position can be stressful due to meeting deadlines and attention to detail. The mental and physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
