At One Heart Wild, we welcome animals through specific channels outlined in our bylaws. We accept transfer requests from veterinarians with clients that have unique needs, other nonprofit sanctuaries, and the humane society for animals that are difficult to adopt. This approach allows One Heart Wild to serve a distinct role in supporting those on the front lines of animal care and rescue, focusing on high-needs animals that are not suitable for adoption due to their care requirements.
It's important to note that we do not take animals from the public. Once we accept a transfer, we commit to that animal for their lifetime, as One Heart Wild is not a foster and adopt organization. This commitment is crucial because our therapy clients form meaningful relationships with the animals here. Frequent changes in animal residents would be detrimental to their care and emotional well-being.
