Momentum In Recovery

  • Missão

Momentum In Recovery is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization advocating for individuals in recovery from Substance Use Disorder, anxiety, depression, and PTSD. Momentum In Recovery works directly with underserved Wisconsin communities who are needing immediate impact for human services such as those effected by domestic violence, homelessness, and poverty-related issues intricately linked with food insecurity.

    Sobre Nós

Momentum In Recovery was founded by Vanessa Wheeler Hurr after the devastating loss of her big brother to overdose in April of 2020. Vanessa’s loss is something that a lot of other families have experienced. The struggle to find resources to assist with her brother’s Substance Use Disorder, mental health issues, and homelessness was costly, consuming, and more often than not, non-existent. He never did find a way to live life in recovery and that loss will always be felt by the Wheeler family. The intersection of grief and advocacy is a heartfelt one. The drive to create Momentum In Recovery was an easy YES once we knew how donations could directly impact people in Wisconsin that are up against similar struggles. We believe that our energy is our currency and that building power through collective giving helps everyone win. We believe that generosity multiples abundance and, through donations, Momentum In Recovery is able to host charitable events, educational pop-ups, prepare meals for those who are experiencing food-insecurity, and assist people who are trying to live their life in recovery from mental and behavioral health issues.
