Beyond providing a safe, creative environment for high school aged, at-risk youth during critical after-school hours, The David’s Harp Foundation, Inc. trains youth in state-of-the-art media production methods, as well as music theory, music composition and recording application; youth are motivated to achieve the required academic stipulations for program participation. Upon completion of the program, all students will have a working knowledge of the recording process and an opportunity to produce, write and engineer music for multimedia projects every semester. We are currently building partnerships in the community to eventually offer Pro Tools(c) software certification, as well as summer internships with local venues to students who have the desire to explore media production as a potential career. The goal of the program is to expose youth to multimedia production, while developing their creative talents and ultimately, to positively influence their overall academic achievement.
