Our nonprofit project provides social and educational services to "street children" in Camoapa, Nicaragua. We serve children ages six through twelve who are living in extreme poverty, and suffer from abuse, exploitation or lack of supervision causing them to be at risk. We are operating as a day program with plans to expand to a residential program. The children receive three meals a day and are enrolled the children in public school. We provide school supplies and uniforms, help with homework, tutoring, enrichment and sports. We work with the family to promote better family functioning so the whole family and the community can benefit from the child's participation in our Hogar.
