Horizons at Norwalk Community College builds brighter futures for elementary school students from low-income families by creating academic, artistic, and athletic opportunities, nurturing potential, cultivating a safe and supportive community, and inspiring individual dreams. Horizons strives to minimize the summer decline in students’ academic performance, and to maximize their ability and self-confidence. This is accomplished through quality instruction provided in small groups and through enrichment activities, including vital swimming instruction, to extend and enhance learning opportunities over a six-week period during the summer.
