Our students flourish because McLean responds to students’ learning styles. McLean prepares students intellectually and socially by encouraging self-advocacy and building self-confidence. Our students succeed because they learn how to learn.
We hear it all the time—McLean School transforms
lives. McLean is an independent, coeducational, college preparatory day school
for bright students in kindergarten through grade 12. We welcome both
traditional learners and those with mild to moderate learning differences - including
ADHD, executive functioning, anxiety, and language-based differences, such
as dyslexia and dysgraphia.
In small classes with attentive teachers,
individualized instruction, and a supportive social environment, students
discover their strengths, strengthen their weaknesses, and find joy in
learning. A rich variety of options—including computer science, art,
music, drama, athletics, clubs and community service—complements our rigorous
core academic programs.
At every stage of their development, our
