School Club Zambia

School Club Zambia (SCZ) is a UK and Zambian registered organisation working in partnership with local schools to ensure every child has access to high quality, vocational and creative education and where education leads to job security and life opportunities for the nation's youth.

At the heart of School Club Zambia’s work is our Self-Financing Schools programme, where we provide the financial and technical expertise for schools to launch income-generating enterprises. These enterprises also form the foundation of our Vocational Education programme, where the children learn practical skills that will give them access to alternative livelihood opportunities once they leave formal education.

Alongside our core programmes, we also recognise the need to address the quality of education on offer in the schools we work with. Therefore, in 2015 we launched two new programmes: Literacy Development and Girls Education. By providing schools with comprehensive a literacy programme we aim to drastically increase the literacy rates and, as lessons are all in English after Grade 4, learning levels across all subjects. Our girls programme addresses some of the most urgent challenges that lead to high absenteeism and drop out rates amongst teenage girls.
