The objective of the College Access & Success Corps (CASC) AmeriCorps program is to increase the college aspirations of the region’s high school students through advising and mentoring; develop partnerships between K-12 schools and institutions of higher education; and improve retention rates and school success among students enrolled in post-secondary programs. An emphasis is placed on helping students at the greatest risk of not attaining a college degree—particularly low-income, first-generation, minority, non-traditional, and academically at-risk students.
