Adventist Development and Relief Agency International

The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) is an independent humanitarian agency established by the Seventh-day Adventist Church in 1956. ADRA maintains offices in more than 120 countries. ADRA works directly with community groups to effect sustainable change, cooperating with other agencies and organizations in fulfilling its primary goals. The values which have shaped the agency are the traditional Christian values of the potential of each individual to reflect the image of God, the dignity which is inherent in every person, and the importance of quality in human life. As an internationally recognized non-governmental organization, ADRA fulfills the primary directive of its charter without regard to to political or religious association, age, gender, or ethnicity. This directive is an outgrowth of a deeply held belief that human life is infinitely valuable.
