Kasturba Institute of Rural Studies (KIRS) formed in 1967 and from then to till date we are focussing on various issues - education, poverty eradication, women empowerment, health, micro-economy, human rights, women & child labour, public policy, HIV/AIDS, occupational safety health hazard etc. KIRS has done many projects during all these yesrs. Recently we have identify one village in W.Bengal where complete community development is required. In one word - 'under poverty threat'. The majority of the villager is depending on fishing for their livelihood. KIRS would like to invite international consultants and NGOS to help in getting good projects independently or in joint collaboration.
