Antique Caterpillar Machinery Museum

1. To educate students and the public about the development of motive power in the shaping of world history (includes defining motive power.) 2. To offer context for motive power in the development of the American economy and culture. 3. To provide concrete examples of motive power machinery used in the American West and place in context with the State of Oregon and 20th century agriculture and industry. 4. To engage the public utilizing the iconic image of a famous American archetype: Caterpillar. Context includes the evolution of the company with its roots in Oregon inventors to its present multinational form. 5. To present the above missions in a friendly, accessible format that represents the cultural time and place of Oregon circa 1900-1950.
