About Nile Sisters Development Initiative
Founded in 2001, Nile Sisters Development Initiative ( NSDI ) is a community-based organization whose mission it is to educate, support, and offer training to refugee and immigrant women and their families to help them overcome barriers to social and economic self-reliance.
Between 2013 and 2015, more than 5,600 refugees and immigrants benefited from NSDI programs, designed to meet the needs of underserved populations struggling to assimilate a new language, unfamiliar customs, and complicated systems that are inherent to self-sufficiency in America.
