Millennium Scholars Academy

Millennium Scholars Academy (MSA) was conceptualized during the summer of 2007 by a group of parents led by Monise Seward, a former Special Education teacher. After having many conversations with parents in southern Gwinnett County about the over-crowded schools and scarce exposure to the arts in school, the group began researching charter schools. Postings on Craigslist generated more interest; the parent group eventually blossomed. When MSA submitted its first charter petition to the Gwinnett County Board of Education in April 2008, the MSA support group had approximately 75 families, which accounted for 160 enrollment commitments. Although the BOE denied the charter application, families remained committed to moving forward and lending their support.

Beginning in Fall 2011, MSA will launch its 'Wake the Artist, Change the World!' Saturday Arts Program for children who live and attend schools in southern Gwinnett County. Please continue to check our page for updates. You can also ‘Like’ our Fan Page on Facebook and follow us on Twitter.
