We believe that education empowers individuals and communities, and is therefore a fundamental cornerstone of international development. We work through grassroots education partnerships in Togo, West Africa and education initiatives in Canada and abroad, towards a future that guarantees education for all.
Founded in 2007 by Kanika Gupta, we are a registered Canadian not-for-profit organization. To date we have supplied school fees and learning materials annually to over 600 Togolese students. Because Nukoko Education is entirely volunteer run, 100 percent of donations support our projects that offer girls access to education and an empowered future.
Nukoko means “smile” in a Togolese dialect. We at Nukoko Education believe that all human beings, and more specifically, all children, have the right to smile at all times. By offering access to education, we are working to make this belief a reality.
