MORE THAN A HANDOUT

More Than A Handout, Inc. (MTH) is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit established by Founder and CEO, Jessie Stephenson. MTH was founded from the Project H.O.P.E. (Helping Overlooked People to Excel) which the CEO began in 2013. Project H.O.P.E. provides gap filling basic needs such as toiletries; Non-perishable food items; and Transportation Assistance. MTH has an expectation of combatting the effects of deep poverty amongst the homeless, hungry, and hovering (working poor).

The name "More Than A Handout" was inspired by a homeless man when he stated to the CEO/Founder that "he needed more than a handout". The homeless man helped the CEO/Founder to understand feeding and clothing was not a permanent solution for changing lives but just a temporary fix for their basic needs.
