The mission of the Suffolk County Landbank Corp. (SCLBC) is to efficiently facilitate the return of distressed and underutilized properties within Suffolk County to productive uses consistent with the comprehensive plans of the jurisdictions in which they are located. The SCLBC acquires and rehabilitates vacant and foreclosed properties to provide affordable, owner occupied housing to income qualified homeowners. Additionally, the SCLBC facilitates the cleanup and redevelopment of brownfield properties (sites where reuse may be complicated by the presence or potential presence of a hazardous substance, pollutant, or contaminant).
