The Shepherd's Table

We would like to introduce you to The Shepherd’s Table. The Shepherd’s Table is located in Conway, SC on Gamecock Avenue. We are a 501(c) non-profit organization that provides a hot nutritious meal Monday through Friday to those who are hungry, homeless or in need. Contributions from community members enable us to serve over 1580 guests a month, with one out of every 5 being a hungry child. Up until this time we have been able to do this all from donations from local churches, businesses, and civic organizations, and independent volunteers.

There is a need in the community for the services we provide. We average 65 people per night but are increasing serving over 90 people on any given night. In hard economic times when people have difficulty making ends meet, we assist individuals and families by providing for a specific daily need. By not having to pay for dinner, these individuals can use their money for other needs. The people who are served are referred to as "Guests". The Shepherd's Table continues to grow as it strives to feed the body as well as the soul.

In May, 2015, we were finally able to purchase the building that we are occupying. This was imperative due to the increased numbers of guests that we are serving daily. Our building remodel has allowed us to update some of our kitchen equipment, enlarge our dining room and to provide additional space to store all types of food donations. With these upgrades we are able to use our resources in such an effective manner that our meal cost per person is only $3.

Hunger doesn’t take a vacation, nor does it take a day off; and at the Shepherd’s Table we strive to be able to make sure that our neighbors, our friends, our community family doesn’t go hungry.
