UHAI - the East African Sexual Health and Rights Initiative (UHAI EASHRI) is Africa’s first indigenous activist, feminist fund supporting human rights and social justice organising of sexual and gender minorities and sex workers. We fund activists organising in Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda, and further supports Pan-African organising across the continent. We tackle the unique challenges facing our communities and address funding inequalities by leveraging our in-depth understanding of the intricate human rights issues impacting these groups.
