The Los Angeles Trust for Children's Health (The L.A. Trust)

Since 1991, The Los Angeles Trust for Children's Health ("The L.A. Trust") has been achieving bold goals to advance school health programs in Los Angeles. True to its mission to improve student health and readiness to learn through access, advocacy and programs, The L.A. Trust has convened, led, and shaped health and wellness programs at LAUSD schools, including the creation of 14 school-based Wellness Centers that work to improve student health, emotional well-being, and academic achievement across school campuses. Our mission is grounded in the philosophy that health and wellness are integral to student achievement; school-based health centers have a critical role to play in access to services; and, effective community partnerships are a powerful tool for systems change.

The L.A. Trust has realized tremendous impacts in redesigning school health systems. Since March 2012, more than 275,000 individuals have been served through the Wellness Centers, with half of those individuals representing students and the other half representing family members and residents of the local community.
