HabiStore Retail Associate

HabiStore is Habitat For Humanity's retail store selling lightly used home furnishing supplies including furniture, appliances, tolls and more! Our HabiStore gives a second life to items, saving them from landfills and gives someone the opportunity to improve their home for less.

We provide three 4-hour shifts per day for volunteers Monday through Saturday (8:30am-1pm, 11:00am-3pm, and 1:00pm-5pm).

The Retail Associate Volunteer is responsible for providing every customer with an exceptional shopping experience. The Retail Associate Volunteer is the "face" of the HabiStore and should act and work in a manner that is consistent with Habitat Tucson’s core values.

Volunteers perform duties such as:

- Provide an excellent customer service experience to the shoppers and the volunteers and greet every customer in a helpful, courteous manner

- Assist customers that want to purchase items.

- Call item numbers and punch tags to the cashier over the walkie talkies.

- Move items going out same day to receiving pick up door.

- Move inventory from receiving onto the floor as needed

- Assist cashiers as they process customers

- Assist customers to their cars with purchases

- Collect carts in the parking lot.

- Assist receiving staff/volunteers with safely load, transport, and unload donated items from donors’ cars to the HabiStore as needed

- Maintain proper paperwork when completing customer sales

- Maintain a welcoming and supportive attitude toward fellow volunteers, staff, customers, and donors

- Follow all store policy and standard operating procedures

- Perform other tasks as assigned

Volunteers are able to select the shifts that work best for their schedule and there is flexibility on volunteer day and times!

• 08:30 to 13:00 MST
• 11:00 to 15:00 MST
• 13:00 to 17:00 MST
