Basic volunteer duties involved in this assignment:
- Pet Therapy Visits to patients in their homes, nursing/assisted living and other "alternative" homes, and the Medina Inpatient Unit
- Engagement in community events
Basic volunteer qualifications involved with this assignment: Certified Canine in Pet Therapy, ability to complete timesheet, Personable and friendly
Who will be served by this assignment? Patients, families, visitors, and staff of Hospice of the Western Reserve
What is the anticipated benefit of this volunteer service to those receiving the service? Comfort, companionship, and enjoyment of pet/volunteer visits
What specific skills will the volunteer need? Ability to control pet/ensure safety when walking and visiting in homes, facilities
