Finance Trustee

Latin American Foundation for the Future (LAFF) is a UK-registered charity that supports access to quality education for young people from rural and remote communities in Cusco, Peru. We work by strengthening local partner organisations, investing in sustainable programming, and ensuring a rights-based approach to education.

We are seeking a UK-qualified Accountant to join our Board as Finance Trustee and help us maintain strong financial governance as we continue to grow.

In this role, you will:

• Provide oversight of LAFF’s financial performance and controls.
• Review monthly accounts and annual financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with UK charity regulations and accounting standards.
• Advise on financial risks and sustainability.
• Contribute to strategic discussions at quarterly Board meetings (remote).

What we’re looking for:

• Must be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) registered in the UK
• Experience in finance, accounting, or audit
• Ideally, knowledge of UK charity finance (or willingness to learn)
• Strong analytical skills, integrity, and commitment to LAFF’s mission
• Previous trustee or nonprofit experience is welcome but not essential

This is a flexible, remote volunteer role (approx. 5 hours/month). By joining, your expertise will directly strengthen LAFF’s governance and sustainability, enabling us to expand educational opportunities for young people in Peru.
