Position Title: Volunteer Grants Coordinator


Reports To: Grants and Evaluation Contractor

Commitment:3 months (10 hrs/month)

Rate: Unpaid

Organizational Description:

Inneract Project is a nonprofit organization, founded in 2004, working to empower the next generation of  Black, Latinx, and underrepresented designers of color. IP provides free design classes and initiatives that introduce students to the design field in hopes of channeling their creativity into exciting new career paths. Inneract Project is committed to reshaping the design and tech industries so that more Black, Latinx, and underrepresented folks of color are present, empowered, and supported.


OVERVIEW


The Volunteer Grants Coordinator will help ensure Inneract Project has an active and relevant list of grant opportunities to maintain a diverse revenue stream as an organization. This position involves various responsibilities related to grant funding research, identification, and some grant completion and submission.


GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES 


  • Ability to identify grant opportunities and conduct research, from all types of funders: government (city, county, federal), private philanthropy or foundations, sponsorships, corporate grant programs, etc.
  • Rely on several grant announcement tools such as e-blasts, newsletters, etc.
  • Make virtual and in-person introductions to gain access to grant sources
  • Assist and support in the development and writing of grant proposals ensuring accuracy and timely production 
  • Engage in outreach and cultivation as needed to strengthen connections with funders and potential funders. 
  • Identify and attend community-based events related to funding opportunities
  •   Communicate and collaborate  efficiently through various channels including    e-mail, phone/text, and Google Drive throughout the grant coordination process
  • Contribute to the maintenance of the Funder Matrix, an Excel Sheet on Google Drive, and ensure accurate and up-to-date information on potential funders
  • Participate in the identification process of potential funders as needed.


QUALIFICATIONS 


  • Excellent writing, proofreading, editing, and research awareness and skills.
  • Experience in proposal or persuasive essay writing is preferred.
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills. Ability to prioritize and work well under deadlines and changing dynamics.
  • Flexible team player, self-motivated, and detail-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Computer aptitude, ideally bringing some experience with the Google Suite (i.e. Drive, Docs).
  • Passionate for education, youth development, and social justice.
  • Located in the Bay Area, a plus 

COMMITMENT/TERM 

This position requires a 3-month commitment for an average of 2+ hours per week, which will be completed primarily remotely. Position commitment is subject to renewal and extension by agreement from both parties.
