Project Manager: The 831 Experience

The 831 Experience:

Join us for a two-day, transformational event dedicated to uplifting and honoring 200 unhoused guests in the heart of Phoenix. The 831 Experience is a radical act of love in motion, and we need compassionate, capable volunteers to help bring it to life.

We are seeking a local (Arizona) volunteer lead to support coordination on the ground during the event. This is a vital short-term role that may involve helping manage logistics, greeting guests, supporting vendors, and ensuring our guests are treated with dignity and care.

Note: This is a volunteer role. However, we are actively pursuing funding and may offer a stipend or paid honorarium for this key position. Volunteers will be prioritized if funding becomes available.

Role Responsibilities:

• Support setup, guest flow, and team coordination during event days
• Serve as a warm, welcoming point of contact for guests, volunteers, or vendors
• Help distribute meals, hygiene kits, or clothing (as needed)

Event Details:

• Location: First Church UCC, 1407 N 2nd St, Phoenix, AZ
• Dates: January 16-17, 2026
• Volunteer Hours Needed: Approx. 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM each day (shifts or half-days possible)

Ideal Volunteer Lead:

• Based in Phoenix, AZor nearby
• Experienced in community outreach, event logistics, or working with unhoused populations
• Trauma-informed, empathetic, and highly organized
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and serving diverse guests
• 18 or older; access to reliable transportation is helpful but not required
