Membership/Volunteer Assistant

Position Overview:

We’re seeking an organized and engaging Membership/Volunteer Assistant to join our team and help support our incredible volunteer community. In this position, you will work closely with the Membership Coordinator and will play a crucial role in recruiting, training, and supporting our volunteers to ensure the smooth operation of our organization’s efforts. You will be the primary contact for volunteers, providing them with ongoing support, guidance, and recognition of their contributions.

Typical responsibilities include coordinating and facilitating volunteer onboarding sessions, scheduling one-on-one support calls, submitting volunteer achievements to be highlighted in the monthly newsletter, and designing creative ways to highlight the impact of our dedicated volunteers.

Key Responsibilities:

Recruit and onboard new volunteers, including application review and interviews.

Assist in planning and coordinating volunteers for events and fundraising efforts.

Communicate with other coordinators and volunteers to identify needs, match our volunteers’ talents and time, and improve the volunteer experience.

Maintain volunteer records in our data bases.

Recognize and celebrate volunteer achievements and milestones.

Qualifications:

Passion for animal welfare and rescue.

Strong organizational and communication skills.

Experience in volunteer coordination or related fields preferred.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Proficient in using email, social media, and volunteer management software (preferred but not

required).

Location: This position can be maintained basically from home using home computer and phone. Assisting with the planning of and attendance to events and meetings in various locations, as needed.
