I Love My Park Day Volunteer Opportunity on Long Island

Come celebrate the beauty of New York’s most precious parks, historic sites and public lands by volunteering at one of the hundreds of sites for the annual I Love My Park Day. Parks & Trail New York, in partnership with New York State Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation and New York State Department of Environmental Conservation hosts an annual statewide volunteer site that brings together volunteers, nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts.
I Love My Park Day--the largest single-day volunteer event in NYS--presents a perfect opportunity to clean up our favorite parks and shorelines, plant trees and gardens, restore trails and wildlife habitat, remove invasive species, and work on various site improvement projects--all which help to prepare our iconic state park system and public lands for the start of the season.
We’re looking for volunteers to join us for I Love My Park Day at any of the sites listed below on May 3, 2025. Start and end times will vary depending on the site location.
Walt Whitman Birthplace Museum
Hither Hills State Park
Orient Beach State Park
Hallock State Park Preserve
Wildwood State Park
Montauk Point State Park
