Bailey-Boushay House is looking for volunteers who have a desire to make a difference in the lives of those with HIV/AIDS and other life altering illnesses. Our volunteers increase the quality of life of our residents and clients simply by their presence, reducing isolation, anxiety, and depression.
Volunteers are the hands and feet of Bailey-Boushay House and contribute 13 hours each day of the week to our actvities! Volunteers assist with facilitation of daily activities, and events and are a much needed presence to those who are in their final days of life. We are a residential care facility and outpatient facility located in Seattle that has supported those with HIV/AIDS and other life challenges for over 31 years.
We are looking for community members who have either flexible or consistent work hours. Are you a realtor? Own your own business? Settled into a career where you have a consistent schedule? You are the perfect candidate to volunteer at Bailey-Boushay House.
Are you a gifted poet? Talented photographer? Fantastic story-teller? Do you have a therapy dog certified through Pet Partners? Do you hold a current license in cosmetology? Bailey-Boushay House provides skilled nursing care in our 35 bed (single rooms) Residential Care Program. Our Outpatient Program is open every day from 6:30 am to 4:00 pm and supports over 300 individuals living in our community who receive medication management, meals, support groups, community building activities, and outings.
What specifically are volunteers responsible for during their shift? We call our general volunteer a Volunteer Program Assistant and volunteers are currently supporting our Residential Care Program residents by providing companionship; assistance at meals, activities, and outings.
