Great Kids is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors responsible for governance (leadership, oversight, planning, representation, and support). Board Directors possess skills and capabilities including broad national experience, consensus building, leadership and organizational management, and strategic planning backgrounds while being strong communicators, problem solvers, and team players.
Responsibilities
• Review materials prior to Board meetings and actively participate
• Participate in one subcommittee, depending on skills and interests
• Offer management and the Board a variety of perspectives to consider as the organization responds to current realities for families and emerging business issues
• Provide management with occasional informal, professional consultation in one’s area of professional expertise
• Facilitate professional linkages for GKI management aimed at furthering GKI’s mission and expanding GKI’s reach to families
Directors meet six times per year via five teleconference meetings and one annual in-person meeting. Travel expenses are compensated. In the biennial years, a second in-person meeting will be held for board development. The time commitment for Directors is approximately two hours per month.

Great Kids is currently seeking candidates for our Board of Directors with specific expertise in:
• Law – Experiences/Background Preferred: National or Multi-State, Licensing/Acquisition, Intellectual Property and/or Assisting Organizations with Growth/New Products
• Philanthropic Fundraising – Experiences with Grants, Endowments, Donations, Corporate Partners/Funders
• Licensing and Software Development/Expansion
