In Your Element Skills Auction; Event overview:

The Conflict Center’s In Your Element is a dynamic fundraising event that invites participants to explore new skills and passions through a virtual silent auction and live experiences. Supporters can bid on one-of-a-kind opportunities (like cooking classes, art workshops, or storytelling sessions) donated by community members who are truly “in their element.”

Volunteers play a critical role in making this event run smoothly, as well as adding a unique element of fun for all. Through guest interactions, hands-on engagement, and facilitating "ethereal" activities, all participating volunteers will bring a personable spin to the evening.

In Your Element Skills Auction; Event Roles (shift descriptions)

Event, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

• Setup, 4:30pm - 6:00pm
• Cleanup, 8:00pm-9:00pm

Flexible shifts available: 1-2 hours or 2-3 hours. Please expect to help with cleanup, as part of an “all hands on deck” effort! If we have enough volunteers participation, we will be able to create shift rotations that allow for volunteers to enjoy multiple aspects of the event!

• Check-In Table (2-3 people): Greet guests, manage RSVPs, process payments
• Activity 1 (2-3 people): Facilitate a hands-on project with attendees, guiding individuals through the process and supporting construction. This year’s activity is kaleidoscope-building.
• Activity 2 (2-3 people): Facilitate bubbly activities! Invite guests to interact and play with unique forms of bubbles; we’ll have fiery, smoky, and edible opportunities.
• Activity 3 (2-3 people): Temporary tattoo artist/application assistant. Assist guests with the selection and application of shimmering temporary tattoos.
• Support Roles (2-3 people): Floaters providing support to other volunteers.
• Cleanup Crew (everyone: 8:00–9:00 PM): Help pack up materials and restore the space. All hands on deck, please and thank you!

Note for corporate groups: Volunteer opportunities may be paired with a professional development training, led by The Conflict Center. This may be coordinated in advance with our staff.
