HospitalitoAtitlán (http://www.hospitalitoatitlan.org) needs medical volunteers! Volunteers practice medicine in a setting that challenges and enriches their professional lives. They work independently, without supervision, and are part of the on-call schedule serving, at times, as primary physician in charge.
Greatest need is for OB/GYNs or medical professionals specializing in maternal and child health. Infant and maternal mortality in Santiago Atitlán is among the highest in the Americas.
There are no time/language requirements for obstetricians. Other medical professionals should speak intermediate Spanish and be able to spend a minimum of a month.
