    Descrição

Join Empowered Futures as a Process Engineer and help shape the future for emerging adults as they transition into adulthood. We are a forward-thinking nonprofit committed to building confident, emotionally intelligent, and resourceful young adults through self-empowerment, mentorship, and community support.

    About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Process Engineer to join our Program Development team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, organizing, and improving processes that support both program development and mentorship initiatives. You will collaborate closely with the Technical Development team and program leads to ensure smooth implementation of changes, streamline workflows, and establish engineering-informed practices that strengthen program efficiency and impact.

    Key Responsibilities

Design, document, and optimize processes for program development in collaboration with the Technical Development team.

Develop workflows and process maps to ensure smooth implementation of program changes and updates.

Create and maintain engineering-informed processes for mentorship programs, ensuring consistency and scalability.

Identify inefficiencies, gaps, or risks in existing workflows and recommend practical solutions.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align process improvements with organizational goals.

Support program leads by providing frameworks and tools that help them execute their initiatives effectively.

Monitor, evaluate, and refine processes over time based on feedback and performance data.

Contribute to additional organizational tasks and initiatives that require structured, process-driven approaches.

                    Qualifications & Skills

                    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Process, Industrial, Systems, or related fields); Software Development Engineering preferred.
                    • Strong foundation in process engineering, systems thinking, and workflow optimization.
                    • 2+ years of experience in process development, operations, or engineering roles (program development or nonprofit experience is a plus).
                    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
                    • Ability to create clear process documentation (e.g., SOPs, flowcharts, frameworks).
                    • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
                    • Comfortable working in a dynamic, evolving environment with multiple priorities.
                    • Familiarity with process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Agile) is a plus.

                    Why Join Us?

                    • Opportunity to shape the foundational processes of a growing and impactful organization.
                    • Collaborate with passionate, mission-driven, and multidisciplinary senior board members.
                    • Gain experience working on both technical and programmatic sides of organizational development.
                    • Contribute to initiatives that empower mentorship and drive meaningful change.

Must be able to attend weekly Program Development Meetings. This is a part-time, unpaid position (8 - 10 hours a week).
