Your Hearing Dog Inc's (YHD's) mission is to supply specially trained service dogs to the deaf and hard-of-hearing community, as well as veterans with the same challenges. YHD is currently searching for an Event Planner. If you enjoy planning and executing live and online events, engaging with community, cultivating donor relationships, and achieving fundraising goals then this may be the position for you.
Responsibilities:
Event Planning and Coordination
- Assist in the planning and execution of various fundraising and community events.
- Work with staff and volunteer committees to develop event themes, budgets, and timelines.
- Coordinate event logistics, including venue selection, setup, and teardown.
- Recruit and manage event-day volunteers.
Fundraising Support:
- Assist in fundraising efforts related to events, such as securing sponsorships, soliciting donations, and managing auctions or raffles.
- Help to track event income and expenses.
Marketing and Promotion:
- Collaborate with the marketing team to promote events through various channels, including social media, email, and community outreach.
- Help to create event materials, such as invitations, flyers, and programs.
Volunteer Coordination:
- Recruit, train, and supervise event-day volunteers.
- Create volunteer schedules and assignments.
- Ensure volunteers have the resources and support they need.
Event Day Management:
- Oversee event setup, execution, and teardown.
- Serve as the main point of contact for volunteers and vendors during the event.
- Troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the event.
Post-Event Activities
- Assist with post-event tasks, such as sending thank you notes, collecting feedback, and evaluating event success.
Qualifications:
- Passion for the mission of Your Hearing Dog.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Creativity and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience with event planning is a plus, but not required.
- Must be reliable, responsible, and able to commit to the required time.
