Job Description: The DMV Music Alliance is looking for someone to plan, implement, and manage our organization's intern program. As an Internship Program Developer and Coordinator, your primary objective will be to create a structured and valuable internship experience for participants while meeting the organization's talent development needs. You will work closely with the executive director, department managers, and interns to ensure a successful program that aligns with the organization's goals and provides a positive learning experience.


Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop a comprehensive intern program framework, including goals, learning objectives, and program components.
  • Collaborate with department managers to identify intern roles, projects, and tasks that align with departmental needs and provide valuable learning opportunities.
  • Determine the program duration, schedule, and structure to ensure a well-rounded experience for interns.
  • Develop program guidelines, policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling intern job descriptions and advertise internship opportunities through various channels.
  • Screen intern applications, review resumes, and conduct interviews to select qualified candidates.
  • Ensure a fair and inclusive selection process, promoting diversity and equal opportunity.
  • Develop an onboarding process for interns, including orientation sessions, introductions to the organization's culture and values, and familiarization with policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments to provide necessary resources, equipment, and access to tools or systems.
  • Facilitate introductions and networking opportunities for interns to meet key stakeholders and establish relationships.
  • Establish an evaluation process to assess interns' performance, progress, and contributions to the organization.
  • Conduct regular check-ins and performance reviews with interns to provide constructive feedback and guidance.
  • Coordinate with supervisors to gather feedback on interns' performance and provide a comprehensive evaluation.
  • Collect feedback from interns, mentors, and supervisors to evaluate the effectiveness of the intern program.
  • Must stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and legal requirements related to internships and incorporate relevant changes.


Requirements:


  • Previous experience in program development, talent management, or internship coordination is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of internship best practices, learning methodologies, and legal considerations.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills to coordinate multiple aspects of the intern program.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships with interns, mentors, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently, taking initiative and demonstrating creativity.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage timelines and deadlines effectively.
  • Demonstrated passion for supporting the professional development of interns and fostering a positive learning environment.
  • Understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles in program development and management.
