Descrição
Our new "Read With Me" Program reads aloud to slow reading kindergarteners at Kealekehe Elementary School in Kailua-Kona. Their langage lab is from 8:50am to 9:40am daily when school is in session.
You can select the day of the week you want to volunteer and come weekly on that day. Depending on how many volunteers are present will depend upon how many students you are reading to.
Some of these students have heard limited English by the time they enter kindergarten, so they are at a huge disadvantage when starting school. Hearing English words is one way for them to start understanding and learning.
