It can be difficult as an older adult to get the things you need when you can no longer drive your car, or unable to take the bus. Especially if you need to get to a medical appointment, or just to the grocery store to stock up on nutritious food. Right now we are looking for volunteers who enjoy driving, and would be able to provide occasional rides to an older adult from the Longfellow or Seward neighborhood. Our clients, who are 60+, may need a lift to the grocery store, or to medical appointments, or just to one of our Senior Social/Health Talks. By offering your car, and your company, you would be helping an older adult stay independent and engaged in the community and reduce their social and health risks from isolation. Whether it's once a month or once a week, the chance to shop and be out in the community is something that helps seniors continue to live independently and gives them something to look forward to.
