James River Hospice Lynchburg is looking for skillful musicians to play or sing for hospice patients

Do you play an acoustic guitar or other stringed instrument? Maybe keyboard? Flute or another type of woodwind instrument? Can you sing? James River Hospice, Lynchburg is looking for you!

We need skillful Musical Volunteers to visit their assigned patient in the Lynchburg area, to softly play music or to sing for them. James River Hospice, Lynchburg covers a 50 mile radius and we have a patient close to where you live or work. Musical Volunteers visit with their patient a minimum of 3 times a month for at least one hour per visit to provide socialization, comfort and support through music.

To become a James River Hospice Musical Volunteer, you must be at least 18 years of age. We will pay for your required two-step TB test, drug screen and background check. All potential Musical Volunteers need to audition (to show off your musical chops!) We will train you and match you with a patient who will be very happy to have you in their life. Within 48 hours of each visit, you will need to send your visit notes to your Volunteer Coordinator.
