Volunteer ophthalmologists must hold an active medical license in the United States. Additionally, Florida requires a Limited License for volunteer doctors. FLLEC will guide you through the licensing process, including obtaining Sovereign Immunity.

The Florida Lions Eye Clinic in Bonita Springs welcomes your volunteer help. If you are retired and/or hold an active license in another State we have opportunities for you. The Florida Board of Optometry has promulgated rules to allow limited licensure (volunteer licenses) for qualified retirees.
