Use your research skills and eye for detail to support our policy engagement work.
The shelter outreach team oversees policy engagement as it relates to shelters and rescues. This volunteer position will help the team update and maintain our database of state laws so we can be of service to our internal and external partners.
Volunteer tasks involve researching current state laws and rules, including those at the agency level, and inputting/maintaining data in our existing database.

Becoming a volunteer
Requirements for our volunteers:
- Computer proficiency and familiarity with online research
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Strong reading comprehension skills
- Legal research experience preferred
- Airtable or Excel experience preferred
Commitment policy:
- Volunteers commit to approximately four hours per week for three months.
Restrictions:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have access to a computer with access to the internet
- Must be available during business hours (Monday-Friday between 9 am-5 pm Eastern) for initial training
