At Meals on Wheels Yolo County, we serve our community’s most vulnerable seniors with fresh, nutritious meals and meaningful human connection. As a Volunteer Delivery Driver, you’ll be part of that impact, one meal, one smile at a time.

We are seeking volunteers to deliver meals to older adults in West Sacramento. This role is a direct and rewarding way to support your neighbors while helping us fight food insecurity and isolation.

We are currently recruiting both committed and substitute (SOS) drivers.

Committed Drivers

Perfect for folks who love routine and want to make a consistent impact.

• Days Needed: Mondays and Thursdays
• Start Time: Between 10:30–11:00 AM
• Time Commitment: ~90 minutes per shift
• Frequency: Weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly

Substitute (SOS - Save our Seniors - from going hungry) Drivers

Ideal if your schedule changes or you're only available sometimes.

• Days Needed: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays
• How it works: We’ll call or email when we need a fill-in. Say yes when you can, and no when you can’t, no pressure!
• You can also self-schedule through our volunteer portal

Responsibilities:

• Pick up meals at the West Sacramento Meal Connection Location
• Deliver meals to assigned seniors
• Provide a brief check-in with each recipient
• Return delivery materials after route completion
