    Descrição

    Trauma Informed Childcare

We are looking for volunteers to help with childcare during our support groups. Trauma informed care and trauma training are included with volunteer placement. You'll become part of a team dedicated to serving Madison families and children.

Our vision is to create a safe, healthy and nurturing world for children & families.

At The Rainbow Project, we provide restorative healing and hope for young children and their families who have experienced trauma, helping them build a foundation for the mastery of life-sustaining skills.

We serve families with young children, primarily ages 10 & under, in Dane County, Wisconsin, and the surrounding areas. The Rainbow Project provides individualized and responsive services within a variety of settings. Services include short and long-term counseling, prevention and early intervention.

    These services are intended to...

    • Promote positive change within families, including building, strengthening & supporting healthy parent/child relationships.
    • Provide prevention, intervention, and treatment for families affected by family violence (including families with patterns that place members at risk for maltreatment or future mental health concerns).
    • Advocate for the mental health needs and support of families and children in the community.
    • Strengthen the community to support those who have experienced trauma.

Services offered may include one or more of the following:

    • Comprehensive diagnostic assessment and developmental evaluation, with emphasis on social-emotional development and behavior for young children & adults
    • Assessment of parent-child interaction and family relationships
    • Referral services to other specialized community services for family members
    • Child play therapy
    • Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
    • Adult treatment and counseling with individuals, couples, families, or groups
    • Parent education in individual settings, parent-child play sessions, or group settings
    • In-home treatment
    • Interagency coordination, case management and advocacy
    • Consultation services with teachers, foster parents, nurses and others involved with the family
    • Individualized service planning
    • Evaluation and follow-up services
    • Community education/training
    • Short & long-term services are offered, ranging in length from three months to two and half years or more. The Rainbow Project staff have experience working with a variety of culturally and economically diverse populations.

No one is denied services due to their inability to pay.
