Join our public programs cohort!
The Japanese American National Museum (JANM) maintains an active schedule of public programs and we’re seeking volunteers who are comfortable with working with guests to provide them with a positive visitor experience.
Our programs mostly take place on evenings and on weekend afternoons, primarily in the 198-seat Tateuchi Democracy Forum but may be in other spaces at the Museum.
Duties for public program greeter/ushers include but are not limited to, checking in attendees on paper lists or by use of a ticket scanner, assisting guests to find open seats, ushering guests to and from their seats before, during, and after the program, providing guidance for use of hearing assistance devices in the Tateuchi Democracy Forum, answering general questions about the JANM, its exhibits, programs and membership.
Most (but not all) volunteer shifts include free admission to the program.
